Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA), − I abstained on this report not because I do not consider the topic extremely important. I wholeheartedly agree that efforts must be taken to fight against tax fraud and evasion. However, too many elements of this report seemed to be straying into the area of telling Member States how to implement EU tax objectives - and I firmly believe that taxation must remain a Member State competence.
