Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) ‒ This report rightly notes the importance of free competition in the economy, as established in the Treaties. That competition should not however be detrimental to social progress. The political situation in the UK unfortunately has too many parties who are opposed to social progress – the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democratic parties all take a right-wing approach. I voted in favour of this report and hope that the people of Scotland will vote against the UK's right-wing alliance in this year's election.
